The Williamson County Public Library Volunteer Program is designed to expand and enhance public service to the community. Volunteers partner with staff to provide the support necessary to implement the mission and programs of the library system. Volunteers shall provide support services to paid staff and shall not be used to supplement or replace the work done by the library staff.
Applications are reviewed by the members of the Management Team. Volunteers are selected based upon their qualifications and the needs of the Williamson County Public Library at any given time. Qualified applicants will be contacted if a volunteer position becomes available. Applicants should be prepared to provide character references and emergency contact information and to discuss possible interest prior to the acceptance of an applicant. Applicants will be called if a position is identified which matches the applicant’s interests or qualifications.
Applicants must be at least 14 years old to qualify for a Volunteer. Applicants between the ages of 14 and 18 shall require a parent or guardian to attest to the minor’s age by signing an affidavit. In addition, the parent or guardian will be asked to sign a release, releasing Williamson County Government, Williamson County Public Library, its employees, directors, officers, board members or volunteers from any injury or damage suffered by the minor volunteer.

The Williamson County Public Library maintains a strong equal opportunity policy. If no suitable Volunteer opportunities exist, application forms will be kept on file for a period of six months.
Your application will be reviewed and you will receive an email informing you if you have been accepted into our volunteer program. The email will contain a link to a volunteer agreement form that must be submitted before your first volunteer shift. Any minor volunteers must have a parent or guardian submit this form.

The forms are available at the Information Desk, Circulation desk or from the Reference Desk.
