Books and Chocolate, Chocolate and Books

Do you love chocolate? What about a great read? Join us for a Book Tasting at the Bethesda Public Library on Thursday, Sept. 23 at 6:00 pm. Sample delicious handmade chocolate provided by Schakolad Chocolate Factory, enjoy award-winning chocolate milk from the Hatcher Family Dairy, and enjoy readings of scrumptious books at the same time. What could be better? Adults only, please.

Story Times @ Bethesda

Two regularly scheduled children's programs are held each week. No registration is required for either of these groups.

Toddler Time, a lively, active program of songs, rhymes, and books, is held every Tuesday during the school year at 10:30 am for children 18-35 months, and their parent/caregiver.

Preschool Story Time, for 3 and 4 year olds, is held every Wednesday during the school year at 10:30 am. This program uses books, songs, and fingerplays to instill a love of reading in preschoolers.

Snuggle Bug Club, a monthly lapsit story time for parents and caregivers with newborns and infants up to 18 months of age, is held on the third Friday of each month at 10:30 am. The next meeting is Friday, Sept. 17.

Book Clubs @ Bethesda

The Bethesda Book Club for adults will meet on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 6:30 pm to discuss The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. New members are always welcome to join this group for great discussions about great books.

Friends of the Bethesda Library

The Bethesda Library is thankful for our wonderful Friends of the Library group! This active group of library supporters has provided funds for books, DVD’s, children’s performers, and many other much-needed items. Recently, the Friends have provided the new reusable blue books bags that you were probably given the last time you checked out books. The Friends group meets on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 pm. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 16 at 6:00 pm. TWRA Boating Exam

The Bethesda Library offers proctoring of the TWRA Boating Exam. Please call for an appointment to be sure that a certified proctor will be available.
