Art Displays at the Library
Meeting Room Gallery Photographs on exhibit in the gallery hall during November represent a court of honor comprised of the top 15 local participants in a world-wide photo walk. The images were selected by noted photographer Jerry Atnip. Book Discussion Groups at WCPL
The Williamson County Public Library hosts book groups at all branches and at the Main Library. The Book Group meeting schedules for the branches are located on each branch's web page. At the Main Library, the Evening Book Discussion Group will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 8 to discuss The Lace Reader by Brunonia Berry. More information and a list of future selections are available on the book group page. New members are welcome.Genealogy Workshops
Special Collections Department staff offer free one-on-one thirty minute sessions in the use of Genealogical databases subscribed to by the Williamson County Public Library. The library subscribes to HeritageQuest.com, AncestryLibrary.com and 3Fold.com. Sessions are available by appointment on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays from 10 to 11 am. Each session is for thirty minutes. Please call the Special Collections Department at 595-1246 ext. 1 for an appointment or to ask questions about the service. Participants will need a WCPL library card in good standing to access the library computers and databases.

Basic Yoga @ the Library
The free basic yoga class will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 9 & 30 at 2:00 pm in the Meeting Room. Bring everything you need to participate: a yoga mat and any supportive gear, such as a blanket or yoga blocks. All ages are welcome, but children must be mature enough to participate without disturbing other students in the class. Legal Aid Clinic
The Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee is holding free clinics at the Main Library to acquaint library patrons with the free legal services available to Williamson County residents. Clinics are scheduled on the first Tuesday of each month in the Meeting Room. The next clinics are scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 1, and Dec. 6 at 5:30 pm. The clinics are co-sponsored by the Williamson County Public Library. Those seeking advice do not need an appointment, but should bring all papers regarding the legal problem. The Writers' Critique Group is held at the Main Library on the first and third Saturdays of each month from 10:30 am until noon to provide adult authors with serious, courteous critique of their work. The Critique Group will meet on Saturday, Nov. 5 & 19 at 10:30 am. These meetings are not held in the Meeting Room. Ask at the Circulation Desk for location.
Arts Council Brown Bag Lunch Bunch
Friday, Nov. 11, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Brown Bag Lunch Bunch Holiday Party. 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11. Start the holiday season with your fellow artists. There will be Pot-Luck Lunch, Secret Santa Gift Exchange, and an Artist Trading Card Swap. This is a fun way to get to know each other, share some artistic camaraderie, and learn what the Arts Council has planned for 2012. COMPUTER CLASSES
The Williamson County Public Library in Franklin TN, offers computer classes throughout the year. Classes are free to all Williamson County Public Library card-holders. Registration by phone is required.
Introduction to the Computer or equivalent knowledge is required for all other classes. Introduction to the Computer must be taken prior to signing up for any additional classes.
To register for classes call the Reference Department at 615-595-1243, and speak with a Librarian. If you are routed to voice mail or another department, keep calling 595-1243 until you have reached a Librarian. All sessions are held in the Main Library Computer Lab. Adaptive Technology Center
The Main Library's Adaptive Technology Center is available for patrons needing special assistance. The computers, located on the second floor of the library, are equipped with specialty hardware and software for increased ease of use. Both computers feature the screen reader JAWS, screen magnifier MAGic, Open Book scanning software, and Optelec Clear View magnifiers. In addition to the standard scroll mouse, the computers also have trackball and touch pad mice, a switch-adapted joystick and a button switch. Keyboards with larger keys and half-keyboards are available, and the computers are installed on height-adjustable tables. A valid library card is needed to use the Center.
