Your Library PIN

Creating a Personal Identification Number at the
Williamson County Public Library

Do you have a Personal Identification Number from the Library? Your PIN is a helpful tool that enables you to check your Library record from home, to renew books, and to place books on hold.

Williamson County Public Library recently implemented PINs as a new library service to increase patron security. A PIN (or Personal Identification Number) is your secret code which guarantees the privacy of your library record. A library PIN functions in much the same way as PINs for banking ATM cards and credit cards. Please select a PIN consisting of 5 or more numbers. Your PIN should be a code easily remembered by you, but hard to guess by others.

The Williamson County Public Library does not assign PINs. Patrons can create their own by accessing their library account online. The steps for creating a PIN for the first time are:

  1. Connect to the WCPL website.
  2. Click on "My Library Account" in the upper left corner of the screen.
  3. Type in your name and library barcode number.
  4. Create a PIN with 5 or more numbers, and type it into the "Enter Your PIN" box.
  5. Click on the "submit" button.
  6. The next screen should say "Please enter a new PIN." Re-enter the PIN you created twice.
  7. Click on the "Submit" button.
  8. If you receive other system messages, see the "Troubleshooting Tips" section below.
  9. After successfully creating the PIN, you will see a screen with your name. This is the confirmation that you have successfully created a PIN, and are in your individual library record.
  10. Click on the "Log Out" button to leave your individual library record and return to the library web page.
