The Adaptive Technology Center is located on the second floor of the Main Library. Please ask a reference librarian for r for assistance in using these computers.
The Center's two computers, with internet access, provide special programs and equipment to assist patrons with visual and/or mobility impairments.

The Williamson County Public Library system provides 123 computers with internet access for public use. Computers with internet access require a library card in good standing or a 30 day guest card. Youth ages 11-17 must have a library card and parental permission on their library account to use a computer with Internet access.
- Available on a first come, first serve basis.
- Reservations can be made in person up to 24 hours in advance at the Main (reservation station on the second floor), Fairview and Nolensville Libraries.
- Pre-school computers with educational software are available at all branches. Printing is not available from these computers..
- Children's department homework computers at the Main Library allow Internet internet access and printing. Staff are available to assist with printing.
- At the Main Library a parent or guardian may use a Children's Internet computer while his/her children are in the department.
- Young Adult computer use is limited to ages 13-17.
- Microsoft Office 2003 suite: Word,Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Publisher.
- At the Main Library a computer with the Microsoft Office suite without internet access is available upon request.
- Two flat bed scanners at the Main Library with PDF and OCR software.
- Patrons must supply their own headphones, RW CDs, flash drives or other USB storage devices.
Printing from computers at all branches is available from most library computers. Printing is not available from the children's pre-school computers and the Main Library's first floor rotunda computers.
- Black and white printouts are $0.10 per page.
- Color printouts are $1.00 per page.
Now the entire collection of the Williamson County Public Library system is available to you. The courier service runs 5 days a week, Tuesday through Saturday.
- Patrons can request a book from any branch library.
- Expect delivery in a few days if the book is available on the shelf.

- Local call fee is $1.00 for the first page and $0.25 per additional page thereafter.
- Long distance fax fee is $2.00 for the first page and $0.25 per additional page thereafter.
During the tax season, February through April 15, WCPL hosts tax preparation assistance in partnership with the IRS's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP).
- Walk-in service only.
- Bring all tax related documentation and your driver's license.
- VITA offers tax help for people in the low to moderate income range.
- AARP focuses on low to mid-income filing with with special attention given to persons over 60.
- Tax forms are available online at the IRS web site and select forms available at the Main Library.
- During tax season local tax assistance information and a list of forms at the Main library is available online.
Books not owned by the Williamson County Public Library system may be borrowed from other libraries by patrons in good standing. Check with the Reference staff at each branch for details.
- No book may be requested within it's first year of publication..
- The limit is 5 requests per calendar year per card holder.
- Audio visual materials may not be requested.
Computers at all branches with Internet access are available on a first come basis.
- A valid library card in good standing or guest pass is required to use the computers.
- Social media sites are not accessible in the children's department.
- Children's preschool computers at all branches do not offer internet access.
- Library digital reference titles and databases are available on all computers with internet access.
- Patrons are responsible for reading and agreeing to abide by the library's Internet Acceptable Use Agreement.

All library computers and WiFi access to the internet is filtered to block pornography, nudity, and hacking.
Some legitimate sites may be inadvertently blocked. If you feel that a site should be blocked or unblocked, please email site information to the Systems Librarian.

- Renewals may be made by phone, 615-595-1277, or online via your patron account.
- Items with requests may not be renewed.
- Borrowers are responsible for paying the replacement cost of damaged or lost materials.
- A $5.00 processing fee will be charged for replacing library materials.
Items left in the library will be kept for 1 week before they are discarded. In Franklin, ask at the Circulation Desk or call 595-1277 for further information.
The Franklin Lions Club donated a low vision reader for public use at the Main Library. It is located on the second floor in the Reference Department. Reference staff are available to assist with the reader.
A meeting room is available at the Franklin, Fairview, and Nolensville branches for use by local non-profit groups and organizations. Please review the Meeting Room policy prior to contacting staff to make a reservation. Meeting room reservations require a minimum of two weeks notice and a signed guidelines agreement prior to the meeting.

Contributions in "honor" and in "memory" of individuals and families may be made at all branch libraries. Larger contributions may be designated to make ongoing purchases of materials or to purchase furnishings or other equipment. Please note that these items will not carry a donor plate.
- A $20 gift will purchase an individual book in which is placed a gift plate listing the names of both the donor and the honoree. The library also sends a notice of the gift to the family of the person in whose honor or memory the book is given.
- The donor may specify a subject.
- Contributions of less than $20 are placed in the Enrichment Fund and used cumulatively to purchase larger and more expensive materials.

Notary service is provided without charge at all branches during regular library hours, and at the Main Library by appointment.

A black and white photocopier is available at all branch libraries. The cost is $.10 per page.
Librarians at each branch are ready to provide readers' advisory assistance, bibliographies, and assistance with online resources designed to help you find the next great read.
Both students and business people are well served by the Main Library's expanded reference collection. which contains materials on business, statistics and literary criticism.
Bibliographies are available on business,
the Battle of Franklin and other subjects as requested.
The Reference Department provides access to digital reference titles and databases available 24/7, and a growing eBook collection.
Books that are currently checked out or held at another branch library may requested via the Internet or by phone during regular library hours.
- Books will be held for 5 days after notification of availability.
- Movies will be held for 3 days after notification of availability.
- When the Library is open place all items in the return slots located inside the Main Library's lobby entrance or branch library circulation desk.
- When the Library is closed all items may be placed in the Main Library's building slot or the outside drop box.
The Special Collections Department, formerly known as the Genealogy/Local History Room, is located on the second floor of the Main Library. Call 615-595-1246 for further information.
- Special Collections is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 until 5:30.
- The collection includes Genealogy, Local Authors, Local History, and Civil War materials.
- The collection specializes in materials about Williamson County and its contiguous counties: Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina and Virginia.
- Digital resources include Ancestry Library, 3 fold.com, HertiageQuest Online, African-American photo exhibits index, Williamson County obituaries and department databases.
- The 3,000 item Edythe Rucker Whitley Manuscript Collection includes research assembled in notebooks and published books.
The Tennessee Library Card, TLC, is a reciprocal borrowing program between non-metro libraries in Tennessee. For more information contact staff at your home.
- Residents of Williamson County may contact the Reference Department at 595-1243 to pre-arrange a date and time to take a proctored exam.
- Arrangements are made or declined based on adequate space, time periods, and available staffing on the requested date.

Williamson County Public Library is an internet testing location for the TWRA Boating Safety exam.
- Computer access requires Williamson County library card in their own name, a TLC sticker or a computer guest pass in their own name.
- If between the ages 11 and 17, the library account must also have internet permission.
- A computer guest pass may be issued as long as there is a parent or guardian to sign for someone under 17.
- Appointments are required to take the Boater Safety Exam.
- Acquire a boating safety exam permit from any license agent that sells hunting and fishing licenses ($10.00 at Wal-Mart sporting goods, bait stores, marinas).
- The exam permit is required to login to the online exam.
- The exam permit will also serve as a temporary certificate if you pass the exam.
- If you do not pass the exam, the permit is valid to retake the exam as many times as it takes to pass.
- A video and book titled "Boat Tennessee: A Course on Responsible Boating". is available at the Reference service desk.

A typewriter is available for patron use on a first come first serve basis at the Fairview, Franklin, Nolensville libraries. Patrons must supply their own paper.
Copies of the Mail-In Voter Registration Form is available at all library locations. Contact each location for more information. Mail-In Voter Registration Forms are also available as a PDF file.
Wireless Internet access is available at all branch libraries and is subject to the same filtering standards as library computers.
Wireless printing from a personal laptop or device is available while visiting the Main, Fairview or Nolensville Libraries. Please review the wireless printing FAQ before proceeding.
Note: Wireless printing is not available on Apple devices and Windows 7 operating system.
